'Good' Coffee For A 'Change'

We are used to buying a $4 cup of coffee at some of or local cafes - but how about a change for the better.

I came across a nonprofit business in Nashville that helps young kids work to learn how to create successful job skills and connect with positive mentors. The young men learn how to package and market the coffee. The sales of the coffee go to a college scholarship fund for those who stay in the program through high school graduation.

From Humphreys Street Coffee Company "....provides jobs for the young men in the MIMIC (Men in Mentoring in Community) mentoring program of Harvest Hands Community Development Corporation*. We exist to offer an alternative to the juvenile criminal activity in our neighborhood. We offer students in the program an opportunity to connect with positive mentors, to learn job skills, to learn the value of service, and to earn money at the same time."
