"I'm bored."

You've probably heard that before from your son/daughter or even your neice/nephew.

'Good' Coffee For A 'Change'

We are used to buying a $4 cup of coffee at some of or local cafes - but how about a change for the better.

I came across a nonprofit business in Nashville that helps young kids work to learn how to create successful job skills and connect with positive mentors. The young men learn how to package and market the coffee. The sales of the coffee go to a college scholarship fund for those who stay in the program through high school graduation.

---------------

From Humphreys Street Coffee Company "....provides jobs for the young men in the MIMIC (Men in Mentoring in Community) mentoring program of Harvest Hands Community Development Corporation*. We exist to offer an alternative to the juvenile criminal activity in our neighborhood. We offer students in the program an opportunity to connect with positive mentors, to learn job skills, to learn the value of service, and to earn money at the same time."

Gift Card Exchange

Did you get a gift card that you're probably never going to use? No problem!

If you know you'll never use the gift card - swap it for money online. PasticJungle.com claims you can sell your gift card and swap it in for a:
  • Check
  • Amazon.com gift card via email
  • Deposit into PayPal account
You won't get the full amount because the company sells the card to others at a discounted price.

Get Organized: Cereal File

It's back to school - so, it's time to get organized. If you are working on a budget or just looking for something 'cool' - try cutting the top of a cereal box and wrap it with scrapbook paper. Then, attach magnetic clips to the cereal box. Once you're done - just stick it on your fridge!

Valentine's Day Tree

Try another version of the Thankful Tree.

This time - but some branches inside a vase and attach love notes on each branch. If you have been together for 10 months - write 10 reasons why you love your significant other and so on.

Wake Up To Memories

Surprise your significant other with a handful of memories for this Valentine's Day!

Attach your favorite pictures on the ends of balloons and find a way to sneak into their room before they wake up (you might need the help of their roommate or a family member). The more balloons the better!

I tried this idea out for a birthday surprise party...
